John Chapter 5
verses 31-47
“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.
v.31 – Actually it is True, because Jesus is Truth, but according to man 2 or 3 witnesses are required in the law to make testimony valid. The Feast of Weeks or Harvest & Pentecost are Testimonies of The Father or The Son & The Holy Spirit. They are not our feasts, but The Feasts of The Lord. The Spring Feasts have been Fulfilled by their Lord. The Fall Feasts will be Fulfilled at their Lord & King’s Return.
There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is true.
v.32 – The Father is The Other. The Word of God speaks of The One Sent. Jesus would just be doing what His Father’s Will had Him do, that which was Written about Him on scroll. Now that The Word became flesh, it would be Spoken by His Voice.
“You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth.
v.33 – A voice calling in the wilderness to prepare The Way! Testifying even in his mothers womb by leaping as Mother Mary met Elizabeth after conception. The Father sent John to baptize His Son, It is Written in Holy Scriptures.
I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
Not that I accept human testimony; but I mention it that you may be saved.
v.34 – Baptism dosen’t save, The One who was Baptized, Jesus, Saves! The Son of God Rose as Redeemer on that Sunday morn because The Son of Man fulfilled what He was sent to do, the Redemptive Work that was written in Scripture for Salvation!
“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
v.35 – God said, “Let there be Light!” Well, Jesus Christ is that Light of the world. John the baptist was like a Menorah, a light holder. The jewish leaders missed that he would have been Elijah the prophet if they would have accepted Jesus as Messiah. Soon John would be put in prison & his light was to be put out. Elijah will return as 1 of the 2 Witnesses in the end times. Yes, Eli’s Coming!
“I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me.
v.36 – It is Written, but they do not know The Scriptures of The Sent One. His Work of Fulfilling what is Written of Messiah is His Testimony. Many others things written too, like The Promise to Abraham from The Father to provide The Ram. Traditions of men is what they read & follow though.
And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form,
v.37 – At Jesus’ Baptism,
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Man was created in the image of God & here is God in that form before them, God/Man! The Invisible God Manifested Himself as Jesus. He no longer is invisible.
nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent.
v.38 – Apostate jews are the leaders & their scam is about to be revealed by Truth. They refuse The Father’s, John the Baptist’s & The Scriptures testimony of Jesus.
You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,
v.39 -Jesus is The Way, The Only Way is Messiah Yeshua! The Son of God is The Redeemer! The Son of Man does the Redemptive Work that is written about Messiah, The Saviour of the world. Look and you will find that it is me, Messiah, that gives eternal life.
yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
v.40 – Stiff necked leaders looking for honor from men rather than pleasing God. They neglect themselves by not picking up the bed of Salvation & Walk of Faith. There is no desire to repent and turn to God.
“I do not accept glory from human beings,
v.41 – God is no respecter of men. It is all about the Will of God, not mans vain words or applause.
but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts
v.42 – If they did, they would believe what is Written in The Law, by the prophets & in the Psalms, about Yeshua!
I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
v.43 – They will accept their father, anti-christ though. Rabbi so & so, the prophet so & so, they will accept their traditions of men outside of Kingdom Living.
How can you believe since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
v.44 – Messiah is The Father’s Glory! Messiah’s reward are souls. We can not please God without Faith.
The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.
“But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set.
v.45 – Messiah is the Character of God & fulfilled what was Written of Him in the law, the prophets & Psalms. By doing the Work His Father Sent Him to do, Salvation is for all! We Rest in The Lord of The Sabbath!
If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me
v.46 – The jewish leaders are in a worse condition than the lame man was, they are spiritually dead. Deaf & blind because of sin, they deny Moses wrote about Messiah. Moses was a shadow of The Greater Prophet, The Prophet of Prophets, The Deliver of Delivers, The Mediator of Mediators between God & man, Jesus Christ, The Messiah!
“The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear, according to all you desired of the Lord your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.’
But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?
v.47 – They refuse to believe The Word became Flesh, that Jesus is The Prophecy! On this day of the Feast Of Weeks or Harvest, Messiah revealing He is here for a crop of souls. That God Sowed His Seed & now His Reaper of Life, not the grim reaper, is bringing in the crop to the Kingdom Living Storehouse. Jesus Will fulfill Torah & is being given to them today, not as Tablets of stone on Mount Sinai, but as Flesh & Blood on Mount Zion. Messiah is also revealing He is The Root of Jesse on King David’s birth and death day. However, they refuse to repent & rather listen to themselves.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Messiah was fulfilled by the cutting off of Him midway. In the end times the anti-christ will take it from there, however you can’t stop Love. The Father Will soon Say to Jesus in Heaven, Rise, Pick Up Thy Saddle & Ride! For all will see King & The Kingdom’s Entrance, even to those that pierced Him. Let’s Shake, Rattle & Roll!
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
For our God is a consuming fire.
