The Gift

For God so loved the world,
That He gave His only begotten Son,
He wrapped the Gift in flesh and blood,
This packaged deal is our Salvation.
God placed the Gift inside Mary’s womb,
And tied the bow of the umbilical cord,
For the wages of sin is death,
But the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Mary brought forth the Gift of God,
And wrapped Him in swaddling clothes,
And laid Him in a manger,
Because there was no room for them in the inn as the story goes.
An angel said, Fear not: for, behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy,
The Gift which shall be to all people,
Well, It’s a Boy!
But Mary kept all these things,
And pondered them in her heart,
This is where we keep the Gift,
And He will soon impart.
For by grace are ye saved through faith,
And that not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God,
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword,
And he shall rule them with a rod.
For unto us a child is born,
Unto us a Son is given,
And his name shall be called Wonderful,
For the Gift is Eternal Livin’.
Wise men presented unto Him gifts,
Of gold, and frankincense, and myrrh,
Wise men still present Him with gifts today,
The gifts of hims and hers.
a servant of the Lord
